Fascinating and in-depth blog post by the finder of a huge number of OpenVPN vulnerabilities that were not found by the recent code reviews. He both explains the vulnerabilities, and how he found them.

"Free and liberated ebooks,
carefully produced for the true book lover."
(The #ebooks are #opensource #repositories in HTML.)
I always prefer printed books, but it's nice to know these are there.
I think not long ago I said that using Goodreads and Librarything worked ok for me…
Actually, I'm back to hating both. Why are they so terrible. Librarything is one huge compromise and really only ok as "I don't want to be ONLY on Goodreads", and I don't think Goodreads is even trying to be good at anything beyond the very necessities of book reviewing.
(Tell me of any alternatives that you might know, please.)

But I guess my dog then would want a human-walking bot. She's smart.
We then could let the bots walk each other. This would be fun.
So I started the #weaving and it's good 💚💙💜 Using up my sock yarn scraps for the first project. Looks like I still know how to do it after all those years. https://computerfairi.es/media/OOo_K_ZySYUyMl6XVeU
@Anke yes I knew that, it's very cool :D
@Jules Here's a fun fact: Weavers sorta had computers before computers existed. The jaquard loom used punch cards to save complicated brocade or damask patterns. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loom#Jacquard_looms
They do belong in the family tree of inventions that led to modern computers. :D
And then there is this piece of BASIC 💎 https://computerfairi.es/media/Rj4GSFpe7oKrSwanBAw
>> One does not need to be experienced in computer science to use a ready-made computer program. There are already many on the market and more being advertised all the time in weavers' periodicals. ...
What does one do, however, when there seems to be no ready-made program available to use with a particular brand of computer? ... A third answer which could lead to tailor-made usefulness and greatest independence in the long run is, "Make your own program to fit your own interests and equipment."
"Adventures of a computer convert
(computer programming by a novice)
How do you feel about computers applied to weaving? If you have the opportunity to try one, you may be pleasantly surprised! Not so very long ago, I associated computers mainly with large businesses or for use in industrial and scientific processes. Suddenly, it seems, computers are in evidence everywhere from banks and grocery stores to private homes - including those of weavers!"
This one by Doramay Keasbey sounds nice too!
