Soooo, now I'm trying to find out what this thing can do for me.

I should just go to work and master the chaos that is my code so I can be done with this thesis monster. But... you know.

Check it out, math geeks: mathtod.online is an instance that renders LaTeX math :)

(the source code for the instance wasn't available, so we pinged the instance admin and he put the repo online. Remember, admins! Mastodon is AGPL, so your customizations *must* be available and linked from your site -- there's a "source code" link at the bottom of the page)

Ok! I added more stuff to the thesis monster and it is good. Now there will be no more new stuff. Just correcting and formatting the next few days.

This is good my friends! I will soon have a life again.

I will now make one last addition to my thesis (need to write some additional code first).

Then I only need to make some corrections, clean up the formatting (yay LaTeX) aaaaaand then!!!
Friday it will be printed and sent ont its way.

2 weeks later I need to present it to some teachers via videoconference. So there will be slides to do and anxiety to deal with.

But this is almost over and I survived!

OK this is scary and exciting.

The date for presenting my thesis is set O.O

I should go to work I guess... but!! First I need to breathe.

Still, as of now, individual users are responsible for making this service accessible to them, because the default is one that is hard or impossible to read for many people, and there is no built-in way to change these things. There is talk about all of this on Github, so I am hopeful. But really, right now, this is… not a good situation.

To sum up the replies (thank you so much, everyone!), so far no instance recommendations, but:

Tusky (Android client) has a light theme and uses Android's font size settings (thanks @frankiesaxx @Amaury @Jules)

You can meter my stress level by counting the length of my sentences multiplied by the number of missing punctuation marks.

I just figured out that this rule does not only apply to social media but in general and omg everything makes so much sense now.

I love LaTeX so much.

I need to present my thesis soon and for that I have to make slides and this would be too much work for me to handle rn.

But thank the holy fairy-tree for LaTeX. I will just copy & paste all the interesting things right out of my thesis and throw it into a beamer class document and it will be fine.

I want to sleep for 2 months now but I still have things to do the next few weeks. (this is my personal thesis tag)

I need a second e-mail client for the scary work and uni accounts.

Because whenever I get scared I can't open my e-mail client and that's just a little inconvenient because I am unable to check all off my mails which means I can't make new mastodon accounts and nice things like that.

My faves can mean:

* I see you, so you know somebody is out there and cares and you don't toot into the cold empty universe. Doesn't mean I like that you feel bad, if that's what you just shared. I'm often not able to say it with words
* I like your thing/thought/work you just shared with the world thank you
* I got your message

The Mastodon "Remote follow" feature could be so easily used to phish the average Mastodon user into signing into a fake instance.

⚠️ Important security reminder: Always make sure the URL shows your "home instance" when logging in.

Man, could you imagine if other workers reacted like tech Industry ones do?
"my car broke down." "UH, HOW ABOUT YOU MAKE YOUR OWN CAR THEN?"
"My pants ripped." "LEARN A SEWING LANGUAGE THEN"

anxiety speaking

Ok, I need to take the dog to the park and then I will do the big scary thing and check my e-mails for my professor's destroying feedback regarding my thesis /o\ and then I need to clean up my really ugly code so that I don't embarrass myself even more.

I'm Jules the fairy now. And look at my hat and sunglasses who keep me sane when I have to leave the fairy cave.

I guess it could be nice to start thinking about computer things again for fun. Because I once liked all the things and then university happened and my brain got possessed by the exam- and credit-points-demons and almost all fun got lost.

So now I'm finishing up my thesis and maybe then there can be life and fun again. With computers.

Of course you can follow me on both accounts, so you don't miss anything my lovely brain decides to throw out into this universe.

And I might need different profile pics and names because confusion.
