Those days when we used to put hours into making html pages with tiled backgrounds, lots of tables and all the strange fonts 👾 Yes I am that old.
there's a stream of live coding of development work on the EFF's Certbot! ( https://certbot.eff.org/ which i guess many people here are familiar with already :3 )
check it out if that's your idea of a good time!~
introduction stuff is happening now talking about the project~
#bulletjournaling today i watched a YT video and the person had a monthly wish list, directly next to their goals/todo-list. how great is that? I made one for my november setup too, to make sure I fit in some me-time and stuff for myself and time with friends the coming month!
There is a new wireless daemon for Linux called iwd, developed by Intel to be an alternative to wpa_supplicant. It is meant to be more lightweight, e.g. to run on embedded devices. Also, I think it should be more consistent in its view of the wireless network status, as I learned in the talk at the "All Systems Go" conference.
I just checked out and compiled the code: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/network/wireless/iwd.git/about/
It's released under LGPL.
I loved the limited space on a tape because it's just the perfect fit for my autistic brain which is in love with repetition ^^ Yes I like loops and short playlists so this is just perfect.
I could of course burn audio to CD and then use my old player/recorder for the cd->tape part. Or I could try to get a walkman with a 3.5mm line in and connect it to the PC.
It's not magic I just need a walkman now!
I'm one of those now I guess
I still have an old CD and tape player and recorder thing and old mixtapes. But I would really love a portable player again.
There are those tape to usb/mp3 converter things out there. But I would love to be able to convert in the other direction. mp3 to tape.
"The Web began dying in 2014, here's how" a very good overview of the problems we face in keeping the open web alive https://staltz.com/the-web-began-dying-in-2014-heres-how.html
obligatory comment: physical things fall apart in obvious ways, "digital" things deteriorate in often unnoticed ways http://xkcd.com/1909/#
preserving interactivity is the challenge; various communities (some unknowingly) made progress. I wrote about it: https://figshare.com/articles/Evaluating_Interactive_Archives/5483836 https://mastodon.social/media/tBGUrcFwf50RfyeEqzk

DNA Replication Filmed for the First Time, and it's not what we expected

So please help our developer @charlag out:
We want to show the upload progress of media files - should it be a percent value or a progress bar? Or both?
And if we implement a tab to view a users media, would you prefer a fourth tab in profiles or should we hide it in the menu like the web version does?
I wish we could do UI/UX polls on what people would prefer for #tusky
1) Media upload progress - progress bar or percent as text?
2) Media tab in profile - forth tab (with scrolling tabs) or hidden in the menu?
