Soooo... it is a bit hard to follow conversations with my computerfairi.es account because I only see about half of the responses in conversations than I can see on witches.town (from non-witches and non-fairies).

Is this a federation-thing I didn't get?

I

And maybe don't hide every 1 sentence answer to a cw-ed long toot behind a cw? We will get a tag full of "show more"s and won't find anything without aggressive clicking? ^^

Ok people!

Remember to mark your toots' exposure status as public! Unlisted toots don't show up in searches!

Ok, back to work now. I already found all the files I need to include. Now I need to clean up my comments and file structure and theeeeen I might actually finish the thesis-monster tonight!

Because they are everywhere. Lurking in the shadows and just waiting for you to walk by.

That's why I usually don't do "oh let's do some nice tech/coding project" with random strangers on the internet.

And they actually think people are interested in reading their babble...

Why is it that these annoying tech-super-dude-trolls hijack every discussion where people actually try to learn stuff?

Just remember. Block aggressively 💜

Seems like fairy-me is online again

computerfairi.es is on a new server now so hopefully this account will work, because I want to do computerfairy-work from this one.

Soooo, now I'm trying to find out what this thing can do for me.

I should just go to work and master the chaos that is my code so I can be done with this thesis monster. But... you know.

Is there anyone interested in doing a group where we learn to code together? Using mostly free resources? And work on a common project, perhaps? Programming language is open for discussion.

Gibt es Menschen die Interesse hätten an einer Gruppe, in der wir Programmieren lernen? Dabei v.a. freie Ressourcen nutzen? Und vll. an einem gemeinsamen projekt arbeiten? Programmiersprache ist noch offen. #practicecoding

Check it out, math geeks: mathtod.online is an instance that renders LaTeX math :)

(the source code for the instance wasn't available, so we pinged the instance admin and he put the repo online. Remember, admins! Mastodon is AGPL, so your customizations *must* be available and linked from your site -- there's a "source code" link at the bottom of the page)

Ok! I added more stuff to the thesis monster and it is good. Now there will be no more new stuff. Just correcting and formatting the next few days.

This is good my friends! I will soon have a life again.

I will now make one last addition to my thesis (need to write some additional code first).

Then I only need to make some corrections, clean up the formatting (yay LaTeX) aaaaaand then!!!
Friday it will be printed and sent ont its way.

2 weeks later I need to present it to some teachers via videoconference. So there will be slides to do and anxiety to deal with.

But this is almost over and I survived!

OK this is scary and exciting.

The date for presenting my thesis is set O.O

I should go to work I guess... but!! First I need to breathe.

Still, as of now, individual users are responsible for making this service accessible to them, because the default is one that is hard or impossible to read for many people, and there is no built-in way to change these things. There is talk about all of this on Github, so I am hopeful. But really, right now, this is… not a good situation.

To sum up the replies (thank you so much, everyone!), so far no instance recommendations, but:

Tusky (Android client) has a light theme and uses Android's font size settings (thanks @frankiesaxx @Amaury @Jules)

Anyone interested in an instance like "mastodon.help", to provide a safe testing space, give advice and so on? I'd like to help, but would'nt want to administer... Too newbie.

Wäre jemand interessiert an einer Instanz wie "mastodon.help", als sicherer Testort, um Hilfe zu geben etc.? Ich würde gern helfen, aber nicht administrieren. Bin zu Newbie.

Boost appreciated!
