@sunsetmoth I mean they also ban people for posting too much art at once to the PTL (which was like five pieces or sth) so I'm not suprised
Okay so I just noticed Mastodon.ART's "no alts" policy.
If you have an account on *any* other instance, you're not supposed to have one on .art, or it'll get deleted. What the fuck kind of rule is that? Am I reading it wrong? They say "Share your art on your main account, it'll get shared just the same there, there's no reason to be here too"
...Maybe I want to let people follow me *exclusively* for art if they don't care about my dumb jokes? Maybe I don't wanna clutter up .art local with them?
we can be mindful of predators without assuming friendships are bad. we can stop fucking pretending everything in the queer community is about sex, too, while we're at it.
the drama is making me really angry mainly because people are shitting out the /horrible/ take that adults and minors cannot be friends without it being "creepy".
fuck that shit. fuck that shit to Hades and back. this is the kind of shit that ruins our already fucked up community so much more. you're not doing risk reduction here, you're just making shit weird when it's not.
i am friends with my coworkers. i have been working with them since i was 16; they are grad students. that is not a fucking creepy relationship, and honestly fuck you if you assume minors being friends with not-minors is problematic.
you can tell it's a localization prototype because it has the western-only title written on it, which generally means that you're paying thousands of dollars for a copy of the game that has an unfinished translation at best or, more likely, is identical to the retail release
(and being encased in plastic with exposed EPROM windows means it is also extremely vulnerable to bit rot)
Don't worry, I can perfectly understand that Blizzard, the famous indie developer, can have trouble releasing any game on Linux. I mean, they are already making hardly money, right?
Game engines that exist on Linux: Godot, Ren'Py, Source, Unity, Unreal Engine 4
Game developers: "Actually, we can't support Linux. That's way too complicated because there is no proper game engine on this platform."
Game developers: "Linux is too niche, there is no market on this platform."
Also game developers: Amazon Fire TV, MacOS, Nvidia Shield, Ouya…
@Sylvhem do any of the games that do this actually work on Ubuntu and not on other distros, or do they just not work on any Linux distros at all and just hope that nobody ever actually uses the specific version of Ubuntu they support?
I've run into this a few times, and each time it was really a matter of "you don't have one of the three GPU models that this game supports on Linux, too bad" and the specific distro support was nothing but a distraction.
