Exactly. This is why I always disagreed with Linux elitists about making Linux-only software. If that software we made with cross platforming in mind, many more people would have found it easier to switch. Instead, they kept using proprietary tools because no free alternatives were available for Windows.
It was a stupid decision that only made things more difficult for everyone.

the 'fancy dinners' that my #ffxiv rp cafe offers are from menus borrowed more or less straight from victorian menus, but pared down a bit and me looking for the recipes that seem more simple. however i think a lot of the victorian foibles are still great to slide in there to rp - want to know your dinner is fancy? When thinking about architecture for Tilemap Town features one thing that pops into my mind is "wait a minute am I reinventing IRC services here?"
I think the real problem with IRC services was that it was sort of clunky having *core* features like name and channel ownership be bots you message, but that kinda stuff is actually integrated into the server here.
I guess the concept of non-core features in the form of server-side bots for all users to use is harmless, though.
