I think Detroit ripped off the Nier game settings scene, very poorly.

They put a flowchart in Detroit for various paths which seems like a bad idea since it'll show most of the stuff doesn't matter.

Detroit Become Human, shitty racism metaphor

This racism metaphor doesn't make much sense so far, I know a shock. Also get it the Android's are at the back of the bus!? Hi I'm David Cage and understand the intricacies of racism.

Detroit Become Human, shitty racism metaphor

Like there's an instance where some protestors attack an android because they hate androids for taking their jobs. A police officer intervenes to save the android. The cops, well known for protecting oppressed minorities!

Detroit Become Human

They wanted to show a run down house but not tooooo run down cuz that's icky! This house just looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a week, not a broken home.

Detroit Become Human

Oh weeeeee it's not a David Cage game without pointless poorly written abuse plot.

Detroit Become Human

Oh noooooo Clancy Brown! You're much better than this!

Detroit Become Human

So the investigation stuff looks shallow as hell cuz of course it has to be cuz actual investigation games have no pacing. Trauma Team had some real criminal investigation mechanics that required logic and observation. Then at the end you reconstructed the crime with the evidence collected. It was so good!

Detroit Become Human

Like in a regular investigation game it just presents the evidence and you have to figure out the context of each piece. Detroit has you finding the evidence but then you press a button and it shows you the context immediately.

Detroit Become Human, abuse

David Cage includes child abuse not because he has anything to say about it but because it makes his game "serious" and "real." See videogames are art so long as serious issues are covered. No matter how clunkily, pointlessly, and poorly handled they are.

Detroit Become Human

Why do the robots have teeth and nipples? Why is there a landfill full of robots that are still functioning? Do they not recycle any parts? Why would they be left on? David Cage wanted a weird hell scene and rebirth symbolism cuz "ART!"

Detroit Become Human

OK so in the universe of Detroit everyone sees the androids as objects. They're on the same level as like home appliances and phones. Yet people get into snide conversations with them? A dude says "great job" and sarcastically claps. Like imagine if someone did that to the printer at your office.

Detroit Become Human

Clancy Brown is hamming it the fuck up and about the only enjoyable part of this dang ass game.

Detroit Become Human

omg there's a survey in the middle of the game that asks you some questions about technology and androids. The first question asks if you would fuck a robot. God dammit David.

Detroit Become Human

One of the symbols for the secret robot revolutions is a fucking hashtag. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat the fuck?

Detroit Become Human

@fillertrack david cage: the david cagening is by david cage so he has a grasp of subtlety so secure that is second only to

...

a wet bar of soap covered in WD40 handled by hands covered in banana peel all of which covered by a frictionless material ALSO covered in a gallon of baby oil in motion on a fully soaked slip & slide which means he's about as subtle as this metaphor.

...or is that a simile.

I think it's a simile.
