Is there a word for an "update" which actually fixes absolutely nothing and all it does is put a fancy new skin on everything but is still formatted as an update meaning that if the update didn't apply it would near brick the systems it wasn't applied on necessitating an engineer coming out to manually update the systems with this fancy new skin over everything?

Exactly my response. All the exact same issues, nothing is fixed or improved. In fact they are actually harder to read for the customers, and there's this massive central chunk of wasted space used to just show what the last scanned item is (in text only). The help needed button is TINY now and right next to an equally tiny button to set everything to Welsh. Just like... Why even bother??

Eeeehhhh it's just one more thing that this company has buggered up. There's a list of them at this point, but I'm sure none of it will get fixed because the CEOs are too busy patting themselves on the back with huge wads of cash they've earned themselves by doing a merger.
