Gooodd lord you gotta love scam calls. "Hello I'm from BT and I'm calling to let you know that your computer operating system has been compromised and it's affecting our main servers"
I know why people fall for this. It's scary sounding, if you aren't at all clued in on some of the more technical aspects of how the internet works (sure it's easy to look up but not everyone has that knowledge or time to do so). It makes me angry that people prey on folks like this though.
Fucker hung up without a word the moment I repeated back to him what he was implying, then called him out on his bullshit and told him in no uncertain terms that I knew he was lying, it was a scam, and told them never to call here again.
How do people live with themselves doing this job? jfc.
@Nine tbh? Like I don’t think public shaming is a good thing a lot of the time but...actually I think ppl who try to scam what’s offen old people should probably be made to publicly apologise when caught.
