I've probably mentioned that back in the day I got heavily into the betas of both GUNZ online and S4 League.

Both of which when they came out were fundamentally awful Pay2Win games filled with hackers where if you couldn't or wouldn't purchase in game currency for items you were basically never winning any games ever.

S4 League was especially galling because there were no permanent items ever, even ones you purchased, unless you paid exorbitant amounts.

Amazing visual style tho.

GUNZ was kinda interesting to play even after release though because at least if you purchased something it was permanent iirc. The wall running and stuff was great fun and they never patched the sword-flying thing, which was so much fun to abuse to just fly around the map - didn't even require a hack. ^^ You could just do it right on the offset as soon as you got even the basic katana.

@Nine I miss GUNZ

I never tried the second one I think, but I've heard it was missing most of the things that actually made Gunz what it was :c

@MochiWaifu wait there was a gunz 2?

or did you mean S4 League? Because yeah S4 League was still very mobile but... in a different way to Gunz? Gunz was all about constant movement really. Even while melee duels would be two or more combatants flickering about each other doublejumping, wall jumping, flying about using the sword glitch (seriously NOBODY used the knife, ever, it was useless), occasionally breaking off to fire guns briefly. S4 was more gunplay focused.

@MochiWaifu The revolver was pretty rad. It was actually a gigantic six-chambered super-shotgun basically. Utterly ridiculous but startlingly cool. It had plasmaswords and stuff too but if you were in melee you ended up pretty static.

@MochiWaifu That said though each gun and melee wepaon had like, special skills too, and there were a lot more melee weapon options, so it gave you different styles to play as rather than just a knife that you used until you bought a sword, and... that's it.
