@astrology only YOU can prevent forest fires.
by filling in that lava pit with a shitton of gravel and sand or buckets of water
@Nine @astrology just keep it, cover it in dirt or something, then you'll have a handy amount of lava if you need a nether portal and/or a cobble generator
@Ivafakename @astrology I dunno if they fixed the shit where lava is hot enough to burn wood through like... six spaces away even if there's cobble surrounding it.
@Nine @astrology that was a thing?!
@Ivafakename @astrology I put out all the fires, replaced shit, scratched my head as to what the fuck happened, then a new fire started right behind me. as I was putting this out, I realised that the fire was starting right next to the fireplace. so I made a stone mantlepiece for it, I figured like... a block or two would do.
it did not help.
at all.
by the time I'd figured out how to stop everything setting on fire there was this huge ugly cobble lump on teh side of my house. :|
@Ivafakename @astrology my memory isn't the best and to be honest it#s been literally years since I last played it... so i could be misremembering details. it could be that I DID use netherack and was using metal fence for the grating, and heat/fire travels through thin panels/"panes"/"fences" etc but actual solid blocks block the fire
@Nine @astrology we'll just make a compromise and say neither of us know what the heck we're talking about
@Ivafakename @astrology fire bad
@Nine @astrology I don't think that happens if you have a solid block in the way, I always remember building large glass structures with lava in the middle flowing down through it and I don't remember anything burning down?
