A thought experiment for why internet of things is a bad idea:
- How old is your refrigerator?
- How much longer do you think you'll have it before you replace it?
- Imagine a computer that old somewhere in your house that you can't directly interact with but that requires a constant internet connection.
Imagine an always-online device in your house running Windows ME. And you're not allowed to modify its software at all. And it's an oven.
