rainbowroad is a deliberate and not entirely subtle allegory for the perils of being queer in today's society you can fly the pride flag and be out and loud or you can be closeted and quiet and try and keep safe but regardless of what you choose that path is fraught with perils and pitfalls and horrible horrible danger around EVERY CORNER and even on the straight lines and no matter what you aren't safe but we need to fight on to MAKE it safe in this essay I will
