@lugh when I played Pokemon Rangers I was like "huh I'm not sure i like the idea of having to cart around one of these two bootleg pikachu's like why can't i have a cool pokemon like vulpix or something" and then I really, really got into it and now minun and plusle are valid and wonderful and good and cute and i love them
@Nine @lugh minun and plusle were definitely the most successful of the "let's make another pikachu" attempts
(unless you count mimikyu, which feels more like them poking fun of themselves for all the attempts to make another pikachu)
