@Nine I'm guessing you don't have an air conditioner
are you aware of the cheap ice-cooler AC standin thing that you can make for like less than $50? I can walk you through making one if you want
@Felthry the UK only knows of air conditioning in so far as only big businesses have it for their offices, and maybe shops occasionally do (if it even works at all). home aircon is basically "home whatnow?"
Hell I didn't even know aircon EXISTED for homes until I visited california years back.
@Nine I don't know how you people survive like that
you can get a window-mount AC unit for a few hundred (insert local currency here), but if you want I can walk you through making a cheap and easy cooler thingy that can help a lot
@Felthry (also because the main source of the unpleasantness in summer in England is humidity rather than heat, and the rest of the year it's way, way colder, our houses are all built to retain heat, hence why heat and humidityis murder over here.)
@Felthry I had like, this really crappy little thing made a heck of a noise and DID pump out cold air, but mostly by basically using water in a canister to chill it down or something. I... think it actually made the air more humid tho :<
@Nine that might be the DIY one I was offering to show you how to make; it's just an aquarium pump pumping ice water through a copper coil in front of a fan. It does not make the air more humid, but it doesn't make it substantially less humid either
