Went to the Japanese national museum of nature and science in Ueno today. Absolutely breathtaking. Totally forgot to take any pictures I was so in awe. DID however take this one
With the comment of "why the fuck does anybody want a boring fucking diamond when you could have beautiful, interesting stones like this?????"

I mean, fuck "precious" stones. Give me quartz and schist and other "rocks" like that!

Oh whoops forgot to caption that. It's a display case featuring a huge example of quartz of a type called "Japanese twin" according to the sign. There's a huge flat clear crystal with a tree-like white substance inside, standing upright (seriously it's like a foot across and tall almost I think?? I'm bad at measurements but it was big), on a base of yellowy, large, nodule-like crystal clusters

@Nine People focus so much on what jewelry is worth that they completely ignore what should be more important: How it looks

@Nine tbh this is why I prefer polished rock jewellery. A diamond could be swapped with glass and it’d look the same.

But polished minerals such as labrodorite are unique for every peice that’s made using them
