The fairy gym leader, Opal, is kinda weird in general, but remember Bede ( more like BAD am I right) ? Yeah he got kicked on his arse for being a complete utter dingus and isn't a challenger anymore. And yet he's still an insufferable conceited fuck.
However.
After beating Opal, she comes with you to the next area, and sees him and... Basically pressgangs him into being her student???

But yeah I mean not literally press ganged. She does just sorta, grab him and say "you're my apprentice now; get in loser, we're going plotting" and his exceptionally surprised and distinctly uncomfortable face is hilarious. Credit where it's due though, he bears up well. Gonna be interesting to see where that leads

Not one minute later and something explodes in the city I am still in and Bede and Opal (presumably) just left...
But of course I'm told by "the adults" to just go on with the gym challenge.
I'm gonna come back to find Bede is trying to ascend to godhood or something while Opal awaits in the background to Sith Lord her own new student and take Ascension for herself
