I feel like someone's really cool OP OC but like, the coffee shop AU version that got nerfed dramatically and barely resembles the original. Like, someone made me a cool demon with amazing powers and super cool style and shit and then went "ooh, a toy shop AU! Ivy would be really interesting in that, let's make her human!"
@Ivafakename Realtalk I once toyed with the idea of making a comic that was my old kitsune sona but who works retail and basically is depowered significantly because they got tricked into a crap contract by their boss who uses them as cheap labour.
It didn't happen for two reasons: 1) I grew out of that sona fast.
2) It got depressing REAL FAST because I worked retail at the time hhhh.
3) I can't draw.
@Ivafakename 4) I can't count either apparently.
@Nine honestly "X but they work in a shop" sounds great in theory but so damn depressing in practice
@Ivafakename It really is, I got as far as "lol what if a zombie apocalypse happened hahaa" and sketched out one comic, then half of the other before I realised I was literally hoping for a zombie attack so I could have SOMETHING to do on this boring ass long shift and it just... took all the fun out of everything.
@Ivafakename also you're constantly having to put up this facade of perfect pleasantness and politeness even when you're having a shit day or someone is being a jerkface and that is fuckin' exhauuuuustttiinnngggg
@Ivafakename Ahh, I've only worked big retail companies rather than smaller shops sadly ;; Walmart/Asda, Woolworths, that sorta thing
@Nine I've never worked for a big shop, small shops have pros and cons, for example, I can't really take a break because I'm the only one there, I hardly have enough time to pee, I have to sell, stock, and mop basically all at the same time, and I have to open and close when I'm in, but also customers tend to be nicer, even the assholes when they get caught tend to be like "fair shout" and stop, I can be a bit more laid back because all the customers assume I own the place, stuff like that
@Nine yeah, I mean, not so much for me because I work alone and the boss has said to me "If someone is causing trouble just kick them out," but I still feel bad doing that so I just look at the next customer like "You see that shit?" and they kinda go like "What a bastard" and it restores my strength
