@compufox Honestly I heard that ninty of america played the "real" smb2 back when it was made and due to be localised and were like "fuck is this shit holy crap this will NOT sell at all on the NES, it's just SMB1 with different, way harder levels. D: This'll tank" and so Ninty Japan went "uhh... oh hey we've also got THIS game so just i dunno slap mario into that right?" and handed them a doki doki panic romhack basically and NintyUS were like "baller, this'll work"

ive never played "THE L O S T LEVELS" and i think its better this way :p
@compufox realtalk the first time I played SMB3 and 2, AND Lost Levels/SMB2j, it was the SNES Mario All-Stars cart around a friend's house. YK:DDP is a way more fun game than Lost Levels, and indeed SMB1, and I love that it introduced Birdo into canon.
