@heytanuki@snouts.online @Felthry I think I heard somewhere that the original plan with the Saturn was that it was fully backwards compatible with the entire megadrive library out of the box? But that apparently fell through or something? So to extend the life of the still relatively well selling Megadrive, they shoved the 32x out but... eeeehhh.... Maybe not the best idea in hindsight
@Nine @heytanuki Someone else explained that it was a thing with sega of america and sega of japan not getting along and both wanting to release the system that *their* studio was working on because it's *better*
