Duckposting, some background before pictures!
Sooooo
There's a pond nearby where I live. and I do mean nearby. like... a 2 minute walk if that. Literally across the road, a little way down a little driveway to its carpark, and boom. Pond. a big one, for fishing apparently. And also ducks. There are ducks there. Lots of them. Just chilling out. They mostly steer clear of people though, as they're wild ducks.

About a week or two ago, we noticed some NEW arrivals to said pond. ALSO ducks, just... really friggin big. One white apart from their orange beak, one slightly larger, and black, with irridescence on their wings (guessing male due to said irridescence), and one which we assumed was the child because it was like... tawny/black and white? I think? Looked like a cross between the two anyway.

Turns out, according to a neighbour who works with wildlife rehabilitation, farm ducks are often dumped around this area when they're no longer laying eggs, so these poor buggers were just... left to fend forthemselves. when winter is approaching, without their flight feathers having grown back in, and having been raised around humans their whole lives until this point :/
So rather than let them die from neglect, we set about trying to rehome them

Anyway, we rescued the black and the white one, but the tawny one is... really wary of us now.
Still, we set them up temporarily in our old wooden shed, with some hay, and got some proper duck food in for them, and... They're really settling in nicely!
Check it out :D

If you're still here after this point, and haven't started screaming "SHUT THE FUCK UP REN JUST GIVE ME THE FUCKING DUCK PICS ALREADY" then congratulations. Patience is a virtue. or something, i guess.
...duck pics later, not done talking.
Anyway, SO, we managed to catch and put into a carrier TWO of the ducks, but the third got away from us, and despite two weeks of TRYING, this little siht got away every time. Gonna try one more time tho.
