Oops, all Duckposting! (more posting about the ducks! :D)
The girls are getting a lot braver nowadays. Giving them some food this morning and they were like, a foot away from me while they ate without panicking, making adorable little cooing noises. Never heard ducks make that noise before but these girls do when they're eating. It's super adorable.

@Felthry they are SO cute omg. I just hope they get relaxed enough to let us pet and snuggle them a little because aaa they're so fluffy ;w;

@Felthry they're ours. The two males (the big white one with the curl in his tail, and the black one - who also has the curl in his tail, but he's easier to tell apart lol) WERE domestic ducks, but presumably because they were male and they had too many, whoever their owner was just dumped the poor things in a nearby pond when they were younger. They were rake thin and near to starvation when we rescued them ;;

@Nine a duck rescue place is a thing we never really thought about existing but it makes perfect sense

@Felthry The six girls are younger, we got them shortly after. There was a third male we managed to eventually rescue after several weeks of trying, but he was like... part wild mallard I think? And because of this he was spooking the two males. We gave him to a duck rescue place to see if they could rehabilitate him and take care of him, in part trade for the six girls to keep the other two males company.
