alc adj

the main purpose of local newspapers in britain is to read an announcement that the mediocre pub round the corner from your sixth form college that you used to somehow illegally drink in when you were 16, is under new management and has finally changed its name back to what it was called when you used to illegally drink there when you were 16

re: alc adj

@jk and depending upon the paper, this will either be:
A) Political correctness gone mad
B) A heartwarming tale
or C) We literally didn't have any other news to report so here's something about this pub.

re: alc adj

@Nine there's probably a lot of comments on the website saying "well i remember when it was called <even older name>!" and replies like "oh yes wasn't it owned by a Foreign fellow, wasn't it"

re: alc adj

@jk "no no, you're thinking of [other pub] that was run by that really nice [racial slur] I wonder what happened to him?"
