Really though Bethesda can make great worlds. They are just abysmal at main story writing.

Obsidian specifically got in the original writers and such of fallout to make new Vegas, it's why it feels so much better than 3. And yeah I really wish it was them making a new fallout game but apparently not? It's some kind of multiplayer thing

Fallout 3 did not at all make this point sadly. I think there were A FEW little text logs you could find, but most of the lore explaining that the war was actually started by VaultTec wanting to "restart the world" with them on top (it failed, they all died too) is hidden amongst ALL the games and you really need to go looking for it. NV got the point across more I feel. It's way more nuanced and better written than 3.

@puppy@chitter.xyz apparently it did have custom soundtracks, you could load them onto the console/pc and have it play them as a custom radio complete with automatically muting the music during crashes etc.
