@mavica weh indeed ;w; it'll be okay tho! I'm like 99% sure it works just fine and most people who'd want to buy it are probably more than willing to crack it open and mod it so it works even better than it did at release. So many guides about how the +2 second issue has faulty video connectors that are wired the wrong way online

@mavica now, that COULD be a number of things. It could simply be my tv is too new to pick up the signal, it could be the cable is trashed, ooorrr it could be the spectrum's video output through the TV socket is fragged. It'll most likely work fine with one of the other outputs but I have no way of testing that sadly

@mavica yeah I'm sorry. I totally spaced and forgot what the name for the cable was. ^^; I suppose in my defence it's been literally decades since I used this poor old thing but I'm hoping it'll go to a good home. I at least know it definitely WORKS, because it makes the key pipping noises when you plug it in and press keys while listening to the sound through a pair of headphones, just ... can't get a picture on it it seems.

I'm PRETTY sure the spectrum DOES actually work but without having a tv I can test it on because I don't have a (assumedly) working cable I can't really tell. Supposedly the spectrum has a built in speaker but I think that's only the older versions, and the newer +2A etc send sound through the tv... So I can't even tell if the "clicks" of selecting menus or pressing keys is playing. :<

@tom oh man it's like being in a dungeon crawler game and watching an npc or enemy sprite get closer if you sit around too long at a door you just opened. :D

@mavica ah also known as an RF/UHF cable apparently. that might be helpful Ren, giving the right names for things ._.;

@mavica nah it's the old analogue aerial type cable that goes from the "TV" socket to the tv directly. but it seems to not actually send a signal to my current TV
