@owashii@tech.lgbt Sleet is either rain that's trying to give you the cold shoulder (hurhurrr) or snow that's having a bad day and needs a shoulder to cry on (badumptch!)

@jk followed by a postit note taped, stapled AND GLUED to it in ALL CAPS, but written really small "actually just, don't bring any nuts whatsoever into the building it's really just safer... RIP Bob."

@jk sign somewhere by the boss's door that says "You don't have to be nuts to work here!" ... then in very small print underneath "actually we'd prefer you weren't we don't want to have to keep explaining why the printer sometimes eats people"

Surprised at how well the original Commander Keen holds up in terms of how it feels to platform about on it. Despite the movement feeling... floaty??... it feels weirdly responsive and like you have more or less full control. It's pretty intuitive.

@jk can't ever end up releasing something hideously awful if you never release any creative works ever and never ever do anything with your talents and inspiration *doesn't even bother posting the meme because they daren't ever be creative for fear of fucking up* :')

@heatherhorns the boys were always back in town... Who do you think is driving the "ambulance?"

@monorail wasn't there an anime about that or a game or something like where there's tanks but they're anime girls instead of tanks

New version of Flashpoint is out! Version 9.0, "Glorious Sunset". Get ready for the end of Flash by downloading *all of it* bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/down

The Ultimate archive is now 6x the size of the version I downloaded in 2019. I will probably delete that version and download the "Infinity" launcher, since I don't have half a terabyte of disk space to spare at the moment

Competing software aesthetics within the "open source" umbrella:
- lean, mean, a joy to use. the dream.
- hosted on sourceforge, hasn't updated in 11 years, except to upgrade Boost every few months.
- "customizability", ie preferences screen a giant hell-salad of every conceivable option.
- zero documentation. codebase totally uncommented. are you cool enough to use this? no.
- completely bespoke UI system that manages to work OK even if it sticks out on your desktop and kinda breaks ur brain.

just realized that Gnome's icon for "smartphone" is a Nokia N95

@owashii@tech.lgbt i mean...

...yeah actually that's... genuinely how these things work. What DOESN'T happen in real life but does in AA games tho is that the people doing the crimes are caught bc they happily come up to the witness stand and court so they can get straight up arrested rather than doing all the work through proxies or just fuckin' paying people to cover things up for them etc. e_e;
