yes, my custom firmware saved the day
the source code for the firmware i flashed onto my keyboard has the keymaps written out right here
if i wanted to remap it to dvorak with a togglable qwerty layer, i would have just used the configurator and been out of luck. but because i wanted to change the default LED configuration, too, i had to actually learn how to write the firmware stuff in C. and because i bothered to learn that, i figured i might as well put it on my git host

@batterpunts @codl on reflection though I am 99% sure Maxis put that voice clip in there just because "Reticulating Splines" means fuck all and they just liked the sound of it .
@batterpunts @codl well specifically it was a woman's voice saying "reticulating splines" in a very sultry fashion.
I only remember it because it was super weird that it always happened whenever I booted the game up, but the pc i had it on was pretty quick, so I thought it was actually MEANT to say all the things it was saying as it loaded up and "reticulating splines" was the only thing it managed to say in time.
