i make an effort to alt-text all the photos I post for two reasons:
1) Screenreaders are a thing and I want vision impaired folks to be able to enjoy the pictures somehow too
2) I like to hide little messages in them sometimes when I have spare space.

I do sometimes forget though because i am out of energy and am on my phone and typing on phone is really hard ;;

@Felthry yaya! I saw a video on that before (I have a feeling you linked it to me?) but I remember watching it and being like "oh DAMN that's SO FRIGGIN COOL! :O :O :O "

truth of this is that Treasure never gave Red a defined gender. Sure, they have feminine attributes, but that could be put down to the armour giving them hips (like it does for Blue as well), and sure you could point to the eyelashes but eehh. Red uses more "masculine" leaning language in japanese, and nobody refers to Red as a girl in the game apparently, but in the west they were like "uhh... Red's a girl i guess."

...Gunstar Super Heroes was kinda a trip tbqh with its story mind.

yever think about how Gunstar Red in Gunstar Super Heroes/Future Heroes on the GBA is enby and was changed to a girl in the european release?

@Felthry oh yeah almost certainly in that case. that must have been particularly taxing.

@Felthry but yeah true sprite scaling and rotation was def a super fx thing, along with 3d graphics. Also turns out there were several other enhancement chips, including a pseudo parallel processor enhancement that not only had triple the clock speed of the core processor, but also more ram, and both chips could interrupt each other independently! Kinda genius.

@Felthry true but mode 7 did allow for things like Mario Kart which didn't use any enhancement chips, like that perspective background, and the first Super Mario World game used neat tricks like rotating and scaling a background layer instead to give the appearance of sprite scaling and rotation (really cunning. ^^ I love how they used that for the Chrono Trigger title screen too)

updated my screenname for the sake of an obscure easteregg in an old megadrive game which i feel is particularlly on brand

does anybody really know what The Satori Mind is? What is it to unlock it? :o

realtalk tho the SNES had some great graphical tricks but Treasure really fuckin' pulled some slick programming shit with Gunstar Heroes and other games on the megadrive holy shit. "No Mode 7? No Problem!"

SNES: "lol check out this mode 7 graphics with sprite scaling and rotation wyd sega"
Sega: "D-damn you!"
Treasure: "relax, I got this."
SNES: "Konami!? What are you doing here!?"
Treasure: "I am not Konami. I am Treasure. AND I. AM A SUPER SYSTEM! HUAAAAAHHH!!!" *gunstar heroes power up*

Pinky Roader and her two bodyguards is based off the pirate gal and her two henchmen from Secret of Blue Water I'm certain.

...granted I'm constantly certain that "Smash Daisaku" or whatever his actual name is, is based on M Bison as well.

...pretty sure Gunstar Green is Tetsuo from Akira as well.

...honestly Gunstar Heroes' characters largely seemed to be based off other media like goddamn the general dude who runs it all is basically fuggin Magneto and Char Aznable mashed into one.

actually speaking of on a more serious note, the first time I made a skunk character i based their outfit off the gunstar heroes character outfits because that game rules.
