A look at a common ableist behavior
When someone expresses confusion and asks for an explanation of something, often times many people respond with something along the lines of "if you don't understand how [blank], then I can't help you."
This is ableist.
It runs on the assumption that everyone thinks and processes things the exact same way you do and shames the other participant for not being able to understand.
If you are unable to properly explain a concept, it is best to simply say so.
"Sorry, but I can't explain this," is fine to say.
