i love that it's later revealed that Archchancellor Ridcully is FULLY AWARE of his role in the University, and how his constant insistence on huge banquets and the absolutely shocking "Organisation" of the university he's presided over has actually REDUCED wizard-related casualties like, down to single digit percentages, and FULLY INTENDED THAT. aah, Sir Terry Prachett was such a great writer.

@Swiff@rage.love this is canonically why in Discworld novels, the Patrician allows the Unseen University to exist and is HAPPY for Ridcully to be arch chancellor.
