One of the many harmful legacies of the male domination over medieval studies has been the way that the achievements of female writers have been downplayed and erased. Contrary to popular belief, women in the middle ages were not universally illiterate, and many extremely valuable texts were authored by women. Julian of Norwich, for example, was not only a brilliant writer but also a proficient theologian.
@max_ @lynnesbian omg Ubuntu cola is not fully open-source! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Cola
speaking of Megaman btw
everyone knows of Okkussenman right?
You know, that old memm video with the song about a guy coming to terms with growing up and because of the pressures of society having to give up "childish" things (which is sad really and I hate how most societies are like that, that should def. change and I hope it does in the future), that was kinda badly sung?
well JAM Project did a cover of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmEykufItyc
I'll be honest, MM9 and 10 have some great songs in their soundtracks and honestly a good soundtrack is a heckin' good way to get me to be more interested in your game but I cannot help but think "jeez, these might be way better songs with actual instruments instead of chiptunes on emulated NES Hardware"
you know it still kinda baffles me that megaman 9 and 10 were super retro NES-era designed. like...
why would you go back to that for nostalgia's sake just to - oh right yeah just kinda answered my own question there.
Either way I wonder if they woulda done better to just... do like MM11 did and have a whole new art style adn not try to ape the "originals" by some kind of misguided impression that they were "the best" and "most classic"...
