Periodic reminder: From April 15 to the 22nd, Manna for our Malices will be 80% off to celebrate being done with filing taxes. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1013580/Manna_for_our_Malices/
This was a space harrier clone which was... Graphically and musically definitely better than the official game
I mean, this was the music https://youtu.be/jczIOUqFTWc
Gameplay wise though, the player sprite blocked a lot of action and the hit detection was wonky as hell.
Also you couldn't rapid fire like you could with the original.
Great tune though

Back when I was a kid, I owned a spectrum 128k+2 (I mean, I still do. It's not the original one, it's a model a, but still), but my dad used to buy all three of the magazines for that computer for me. Crash, Your Sinclair, and Sinclair User. SU at the time had a particular mascot, the uh... "Interestingly" named Kamikaze Bear. As a result, a lot of their games on the cover tape revolved around them. Like Bear A Grudge
Photek's "The Third Sequence" is still such a great track after all these years.
for those not recognising that track name,
it's from Wipeout 2097/XL. and it's this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k_g4Lnu4Mc
moody, tense, stomping, bassy beats. Very little melody, but it still sounds friggin great. I love it.
Pixelfed will be a year old in a few days.
I'm a high school dropout that has never taken any CS or computer classes.
Web development is just a hobby of mine, I work in the auto industry.
I'm so proud of this project, I never would have imagined that I could make something like this.
Thank you for helping me realize credentialism isn't so important as you think. ❤️

building fire, anecdote
“I had to admit to myself that this was in fact a perfectly rational point of view, it merely started from an unexpected premise,” Adams wrote. The essence of a building is its design, the intention of the builder. The materials may decay and be replaced, but these are only instantiations of a persistent idea. “I couldn’t feel entirely comfortable with this view, because it fought against my basic Western assumptions,” Adams wrote, “but I did see the point.”

I am glad I did order a replacement pad for my Rpi3b, since the old 360 wired pad I use is kinda showing its age. If worst comes to worst, I can just plug it into my pc instead of my ds4 if needs be then.
(I got the SN30 because eh fuck it it's a nice looking pad with cute colours and I can probably work around the old SNES pad form factor)
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
