Okaaaay R-Type Complete CD time. cannot understand a word of the japanese story segments sadly but I know basically the entire plotline of the RType series, more or less (the tactical games notwithstanding).

like, seems to be that instead of just bein out on a picnic with your lover like on the nes and spectrum versions, and she gets kidnapped, like, the kingdom is just full on under attack like lasers flying down from the sky and the princess is running towards arthy boy past a whole bunch of bodies of her people and she gets lazered and so does Arty's horse and he falls off and he swears revenge I guess. preeety sure the princess is dead.

actually time to just go through all the games and see which are good. this Coryoon game looks cute as heck? like, you're a tiny cute li'l dragon and there's this princess who you love I guess? but then a wizard shows up and like, shrinks her down to chibi size so you go to kick ass. and it's a nice horizontal scroller shootemup

Time to try out Aldynes, a game where it basically starts like Macross or Gundam where an invading force attacks and has the upper hand and they try to use a set of fighters with the best tech to end the war, but it fails, and the protag's family member finds a top secret FINAL FINAL prototype of the next generation fighter and boards the last one as they're all being destroyed and goes to get revenge.

the protag is a woman :O
