the robot shakes their head, then looks up at her slightly, a slight colouration flushing the display on their face. "...I was... thinking about going with Eliza?..." They reply softly. The therapist smiles slightly and nods, sitting back.
"How did that feel?"
The robot hangs their head again, trembling slightly before a glitchy - as if through choked sobs - but rapturously happy voice sounds out "Interface found..."

The councellor nods gently, steeples her chapped and slightly scorched fingers as she considers this, glancing over at a nearby screwdriver and diagnostic toolset, before looking back to her patient.
"...Did you think about what we talked about before?"
"... ..."
"It's alright, if you didn't have the processor cycles to do it, that's not an error, it can be hard..."

mostly I'm just thinking about this because I got a random mental image of a robot on a couch talking about how they've been having kernel panic errors showing up a lot when out in public, and how their frame feels wrong somehow, and the councellor raises an eyebrow slightly at one point
"wrong as in... wrong wiring?"
"more like... wrong build. wrong metal??... like trying to interface with something that isn't there."

and like, they talk about it, and at the end the therapist can offer code injection (analagous to medication) to patch the issue if it's a hard coded problem that's cropped up, or if it's a hardware fault that can't otherwise easily be dealt with, or "workarounds" can be offered, (like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for robots, where they self-code a way around it themselves with tools learned/given) or a combination of them.

like, a therapy session between a robot and her councellor/maintenance official. The councellor COULD just open her up and reprogram her to "fix" her, but you gotta diagnose first, and in the interests of consent, boundaries, and treating her with respect, as well as getting a more accurate picture of what's ACTUALLY wrong rather than what the state/gov't/non robots THINK is "wrong", they talk it out, discuss "glitches" and such.
a cool thing about donating to bail funds btw: that money isn't one-and-done. unless someone actually doesn't report to court, which almost never happens, that money is returned to the bail fund to be used once again. donating $50 to a bail fund *permanently* gives them an additional $50 to use again and again as that money gets returned to them.
the bigger the pool of money a bail fund has, the more people it can help at once, since ofc your $50 cannot be used to post bail for multiple people at one time.

30 day videogame music challenge thread! Day 3
8 bit music - Bet you thought I was gonna take the easy route and go with Wily Castle stage 2 from Megaman 2 huh? hahahaa, naaaah not happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbXxMDlwfbI Ninja Gaiden 2 - Battling Precariously motha fuckaaaaas. ... Though truth told I only actually first played this with Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on SNES Emulations. Brutally hard game, but that track stuck with me since then. Snes version doesn't add much more tbqh, but still good.
Positive thing happening on twitter: Black birders week :0

I'm so glad to see this kind of stuff happening, it always feels bad weird to go out in nature and only see white people birding and exploring. We need to make the outdoors & communities related to curiosity about nature more welcoming & accessible to more people...!
30 day videogame music challenge thread! Day 2
2: Opening level music - StarFox/Wing - Corneria. When I first played this game, it was like magic. I adored it. I rarely got to play it unless I was at a friends' house and they happened to have both a SNES and StarWing but fuck it, I still loved it. It was the first game I played when I started emulating games in the 2000s. Hell, I got ZSNES purely so I COULD play Starfox on my pc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBD3FO6ozXc
I need help moving out of my abusive parents' house. they're fed up of dealing with their traumatized daughter and have started progressively piling on increased demands that make me shut down harder. I'm afraid they're building up their excuse to kick me out and claim it's my fault for 'not cooperating'.
I have a plan: I'm applying for jobs in the city where my college friends live, and they can let me crash on their couch while I look for apartments. I think my boyfriend can drive me up, and we're looking at moving in together although possibly not at the same time. But the money I have right now might only cover my deposit on a new place.
I know that right now is a terrible time to be asking for money. There's bail funds to be supporting. But if you can spare help for me, I'd be so, so grateful.

The TLDR is comfort in, dump out. Send comfort towards those more affected, and look for comfort from those equally or less affected than you.
30 day videogame music challenge thread!
1: Title screen music - Gunstar Heroes - Legend of the Gunstars holy fuck what a title music seriously goddamn. Just... sets up the mood perfectly for the game, and just... everything about that soundtrack is pure gold too, and the game too. Play it if you haven't already, I heartily recommend it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBevYPzaBA0
Finally did that 30 day videogame music challenge thing!
... This thing :O
I'm gonna thread this thing, so it doesn't spam everyone, and i uh... I'm gonna post one a day rather than... all thirty at once because hahahahaahaha nobody needs THAT flooding their timeline.
So feel free to click back through the thread. Each day's entry will be titled with what it is too, so hence no alt-text on this one.
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
