As aloe plants grow, their lower leaves will always start to dry up and fall away. It’s best to take one which is already starting to droop. Use a pair of good scissors and carefully snip it away at the base.

A healthy plant won’t miss an ageing leaf or two.

It is summer, which means some people will probably get sunburn. It can happen easily, and it can be pretty uncomfortable. Aloe gel can be very soothing though (for other minor burns too), so here’s a little thread about how you can safely take a little from a houseplant.

Aloe plants are super easy to grow too. This charming lady lives under my desk lamp with her 7 daughters.

Steps with pictures:

1. Even an old leaf will stay healthy for a few weeks after you trim it off. I just keep them by my bathroom sink. They seem to last best somewhere not too warm and not too dark.

2. You don’t need much. Snip a couple of centimetres of leaf off the bottom end. Carefully snip off the side too (the part where the leaf spines grow).

3. Along the cut edge, split the leaf chunk open. It should be full of sticky leaf gel. Even leaves which are starting to dry should have some.

4. Rub the leafy gel directly on your burn. It should feel nice and cool.

Loving the songs in Superhot MCD. Especially the one which plays during the Disco map. (which ironically is also called SUPERHOT)

It's like... System Shock 2's "MedSci1" met Doom 2016's "BFG Division"? almost? I like it anyway

By the way my commission queue is empty atm !!! If anyone is interested in commissioning me my art is in my pinned !

encryption pooptooting, death mention

if your encyption protocols don't include literally putting your data in a buried crypt deep underground behind an array of deathtraps, puzzles and immortal magical guards what are you even doing calling it encryption

Rare griping about my parents moment 5 i think i dunno fuckin' christ either way this is the last one

I didn't tell her, but she's pissed me off, Miq off as well for how blitheringly thoughtless she's being, and she'll have likely pissed Paula off as well. fucking hell.

The oone we were willing to send her is probably worth WAY more than that tacky looking one in the hard (plastic?) case as well. ugh. god. fuck. how am i related to this woman bloody hell.

...she doesn't even need the picnic hamper. she just WANTS it because it looks nice.

and she wants me

to go on a two fucking hour journey, to pick up this stupid thing, she doesn't even NEED, just for the look of it

when she's already fucking got a perfectly good one.

I basically had to let her down (diplomatically as I could) saying "yeah no, that... isn't happening, sorry, we're too busy with this book thing we're writing here)

So Paula, miq's mum, out of the goodness of her heart, has offered this FULLY COMPLETE, IMMACULATE CONDITION, Picnic Hamper set that's really nice quality, in a big wicker case, that my mum can have for free instead of paying £60 for this (imo ugly ass looking) 1950s hamper.

My mum says no thanks, she's dead set on this one because of the rose patterns on the china, and she's already GOT a Brexton hamper that's in a wicker box.

Rare griping about my parents moment 2

so my mum has the BRILLIANT* idea of asking ME to buy it on my account to get it sent to me so I can send it to her.

*absolutely mindbogglingly daft

I say "hey hold on that'll cost a shitton are you sure??"
she says yes.
I say "...I mean... this probably isn't gonna happen but, I guess I can take a look at this thing, see what it is at least, what the deal is."

I look it up, Paula is like "hey we've got one of those, she can have it for free if she likes"

fucksake why is my mum so bloody oblivious.

So, she wants a vintage Brexton 1950s picnic hamper, and she found one on ebay that she wants, and she paid for it, but the seller returned the money because he lives like 30 miles north of Sheffield, where I live, and she's down in Guildford, and he doesn't wanna post this thing (understandable, it's fragile, heavy as fuck, and an antique) to her.

tfw you see something, and you KNOW a mutual is gonna love it, so you just boost/retweet it without notifying them, and then you see they enjoyed it

This is a GitHub repository containing the source code of Pokémon Red and Blue, disassembled and refactored to human-readable (and editable!) asm.

While the code is refactored, its functionality is untouched, and the ROMs you built with this code will be identical to the one that is on US Pokémon Red or Blue cartridge.

It is a really cool and interesting project!

Well, the Rockwell Descent was...

...tiny.

kinda broken in places. Playable, but not terribly interesting.

Time to play its sequel. The Rockwell Pursuit! Which by the author's own admission, is far far better than the Descent, because the Descent was a very early work of his, and is, quote "Held together by its bugs somehow", unquote.
