imagine if instead of the internet it was like. instead of it. there was like. probably a Frog. and you can go like. Pat Pat. and the Frog is like "borp"

why does a malware cleaner need to restart your windows 10 pc just to install an update to itself, come the fuck on now

blue eyes white dragon was supposed to be this ultra rare fuckin card but goddamn couldn't you just get card that in the Kaiba starter set??

That said, other examples from other media are:

can i just mention briefly what a fuckin' awesome track this is from Sanctum 2's soundtrack? youtube.com/watch?v=jfRLAhhYa7

I dunno what it is but this sorta music just... really gels with me. Futuristic, heavy, pounding basslines and drum tracks like industrial machinery, a simultaneous feeling of claustrophobia and wide open freedom, energy pulsing beneath the surface, waiting to break out.

Looks like Amazon is retiring the Goodreads API, which just another step towards basically abandoning Goodreads and folding it into some other Amazon service I guess: joealcorn.co.uk/blog/2020/good

My advice? Get off Goodreads while you still can (ie export your content) and move over to StoryGraph: beta.thestorygraph.com

A black-owned startup finally developing a viable alternative to Goodreads. Fuck yeah!

(Why not LibraryThings? Because, guess what.. it’s also owned by Amazon!)

gonna write a videogame where Scroll Lock is used for several things and you can't rebind it, but it doesn't do anything mission critical to the game, it just allows you to read developer comments, hints, secrets or silly jokes by forcing a window to scroll its text down past what's displayed on the screen you're looking at :)

(disclaimer i am not writing a videogame that does this)

oh

my god

the fuckin

this jpcp map pack for doom i just...

one fo these fucking levels, map08, Confused Arena, has a fucking comic in its level map.

like, not even hidden away. if you complete the map likely you will already be able to see ALL of it on your automap, even WITHOUT picking upt he Automap placed suspiciously RIGHT in front of the exit switch.

And you'd never notice UNLESS you looked at the automap lol. Holy shit that's some good, fun design

Oh also while it can't change any vanilla monster corpses that a map might have dotted around, or you know, the usual vanilla decorations that are pretty bloody and stuff, but as for all the monsters and your own deaths? They're all cartoony and not at all bloody, and that I ALSO deeply appreciate. It makes the entire doom game rather more fun to play. ^^

If only there was a map pack specifically designed for it too ;w;

friends, I'm havin' a good time. it's silly, it's fun, it's HARD, it's charmingly adorable, it's extreeemely fanservicy without ever being lewd, which you know, I can handle, and I really kinda like, I dunno why.

colonel, im tryin to sneak around, but my paws are too dummy thicc, and the pap of my beans keeps alerting the guards

aw dang I completed all the available levels in Wrath: Aeon of Ruin and I wanna play more but I gotta wait until the next map is complete ;w;

No police sirens, no crowded streets that go on for miles and miles, no flickery electric lights. Working on a farm has a clear routine. I’d be a badass at spinning cloth or churning butter because I find endless repetition soothing rather than boring.

I'm not trying to romanticise the past because I know it was hard, dirty work with a constant risk of premature death. I don’t actually want to be a 16th century farmer! What I’m saying is that disability exists in the context of the environment. Our environment isn’t making people autistic in the sense of some chemical causing brain damage. But we have created a modern environment which is hostile to autistic people in many ways, which effectively makes us more disabled. When you make people more disabled, you start to see more people struggling, failing at school because they’re overwhelmed, freaking out at the sound of electric hand dryers and so on. And suddenly it looks like there’s millions more autistic people than existed before.

Reblog for disability commentary.

That last paragraph is absolutely important.

[caption] [2/3] discussion of ableism

To this day, “autism warrior mommies” talk about autism “stealing” their “sweet normal child” and have this idea of “getting their real baby back” which (in the face of modern science) indicates how the human psyche actually does deal with finding out their kid acts unlike what they expected. Given this evidence, and how common we now know autism actually is, the Changeling myth is almost definitely the result of people’s confusion at the development of autistic children.

• memelordrevan

Weirdly enough, that legend is now comforting to me.

• neddythestylish

I think it’s worth noting that many like me, who are diagnosed with ASD now, would probably have been seen as just a bit odd in centuries past. I’m only a little bit autistic; I can pass for neurotypical for short periods if I work really hard at it. I have a lack of talent in social situations, and l’m prone to sensory overload or you might notice me stimming.

But here’s the thing: life is louder, brighter and more intense and confusing than it has ever been. I live on the edge of London and I rarely go into the centre of town because it’s too overwhelming. If I went back in time and lived ona farm somewhere, would anyone even notice there was anything odd about me?
