still can't get over how good this sounds, holy fuck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41V50KDvlFE
Can't stop thinking about this. i'm the glamour cryptid, that's me!!
(thank you @NaHO for bringing this to my attention)
@Nine it doesn't want to modify itself in case it thinks it's a malware :(
That said, other examples from other media are:
Noisia - Seven Stitches (Wipeout Pulse)
Hybrid - Until Tomorrow (Stefan Anion Remix), also Cascade
Photek - The Third Sequence (Wipeout 2097) ((also dear god this track is awesome))
M|O|O|N - Dust, and Paris (used in the Hotline Miami games)
Scattle - Remorse and Light Club - Blizzard (also both HLM 2 tracks)
she (lain trzaska) - Exude
similar tracks are largely from Ghost in the Shell media of course, unsurprisingly:
key examples:
PS1 GITS Game: Opening cinematic, and Spectre.
PS2 GITS game: Staff Roll, and the stacompos2.DnB sanodg mix of the same track, and Remembrance ~ Multi-Level Car Parking Tower
the GITS:SAC series: We Can't Be Cool, Fish ~ Silent Cruise, Zero Signal, Dear John, Torukia
can i just mention briefly what a fuckin' awesome track this is from Sanctum 2's soundtrack? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfRLAhhYa7U
I dunno what it is but this sorta music just... really gels with me. Futuristic, heavy, pounding basslines and drum tracks like industrial machinery, a simultaneous feeling of claustrophobia and wide open freedom, energy pulsing beneath the surface, waiting to break out.
Looks like Amazon is retiring the Goodreads API, which just another step towards basically abandoning Goodreads and folding it into some other Amazon service I guess: https://joealcorn.co.uk/blog/2020/goodreads-retiring-API
My advice? Get off Goodreads while you still can (ie export your content) and move over to StoryGraph: https://beta.thestorygraph.com
A black-owned startup finally developing a viable alternative to Goodreads. Fuck yeah!
(Why not LibraryThings? Because, guess what.. it’s also owned by Amazon!)
gonna write a videogame where Scroll Lock is used for several things and you can't rebind it, but it doesn't do anything mission critical to the game, it just allows you to read developer comments, hints, secrets or silly jokes by forcing a window to scroll its text down past what's displayed on the screen you're looking at :)
(disclaimer i am not writing a videogame that does this)
oh
my god
the fuckin
this jpcp map pack for doom i just...
one fo these fucking levels, map08, Confused Arena, has a fucking comic in its level map.
like, not even hidden away. if you complete the map likely you will already be able to see ALL of it on your automap, even WITHOUT picking upt he Automap placed suspiciously RIGHT in front of the exit switch.
And you'd never notice UNLESS you looked at the automap lol. Holy shit that's some good, fun design
Oh also while it can't change any vanilla monster corpses that a map might have dotted around, or you know, the usual vanilla decorations that are pretty bloody and stuff, but as for all the monsters and your own deaths? They're all cartoony and not at all bloody, and that I ALSO deeply appreciate. It makes the entire doom game rather more fun to play. ^^
If only there was a map pack specifically designed for it too ;w;
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
