Alan Wake: "Hi I'm a cool interesting game!"
Me: "Oh? What's the plot?"
Alan Wake: "Well you play this writer called Alan Wake and he-"
me: "pass"

Control: "Hi I'm a new game where you get psychic powers and shit"
Me: "....?"
Control: "also I may or may not be in the Alan Wake Universe lol"
Me: "...eeeehhhhhh-"
Control: "Also you play a girl"
Me: -hhhhhhhaaaand I'm interested again."

I can't remmember what difficulty i was playing it on but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Outlander, but if THAT was how Outlander is meant to be... dang I think I might increase the difficulty to it from now on. It was pretty good

To elaborate, the original UFO: Enemy Unknown/XCOM: UFO Defence on Amiga and PC had a thing where, due to a bug in the code, EVERY difficulty was set to like Hard difficulty. Even SuperHuman. There was no difference.
Thought the game was hard even on Easy? You're right, it was. Thought it was too easy on SuperHuman? ...it was also this, yes.

Turns out, Wrath had the same issue until just now. ALL difficulties, due to a bug, were set to Outlander Difficulty, the hardest. lol.

the Puuchuu's from Excel Saga. and that weird golgo13 face they make when they are injured/killed

ideally you want to run a system where every single piece of software has tons of different vulnerabilities, so all the hackers are thwarted by choice-paralysis

So I ...

have been playing some Behold the Kickmen, and like

it's like as if someone went "...what if Sensible Soccer, but not?"
"...not Soccer?"
"No... not SENSIBLE!"

And then there was this whole cheesy, shonkily written drama that is a legit trainwreck yet you cannot stop watching it, and despite it all it's hilariously entertaining, and there's this whole training montage and

yeah.

It's that. It's hilarious, and good fun, and completely ridiculous.

two gals, a couple jetpacks, a buncha guns, a sprinkling of autonomous assist droids, an adorable car, a supernatural invasion force, and some rad as heck FM synth soundtrack?

yep it's Troubleshooters Vintage/Battle Mania 2

re: duckposting!

He can't ever do any actual harm to me, even if he just went full force against me. He's a duck. I don't even back off. If he does get wildly aggressive I'll just grab him, pick him up, let him go ham until he realises I'm not gonna hurt him or the girls, and then pop him back down on the ground once he's had his petting and cuddles, and laugh at the doofus a bit. Silly thing.

duckposting!

lol Yin has gotten bold(-ish). Whenever I put food out for them he's always front of the pack, and stands tall and alert, quacking constantly, waiting until all the girls are done eating before eating for himself, keeping guard of them (Yang does the same, but doesn't keep doing the alert quacking, he just waits calmly), but now he's taken to putting his head down and trying to chase me when I turn to go back inside if they're still eating. like
dude wtf, i'm 100x your size XD
