Glad that my spectrum emulation on the RPi is good. It seems to work pretty well
The LATER games are definitely way more fun
which are tough as nails AND have a ranged attack. so... yeah, you're taking hits no matter what. You gotta rush through this game, I'm not sure how this was meant to be fun.
The original Gauntlet games are very bad.

first levels are usually the "easy" ones right?

no you get swarmed by hundreds of ghosts which sure are7 weak but you can only shoot them you can't melee them, They're pretty mobile, and because you can only hsoot in 8 directions and not move while shooting
you take a LOT of hits.
sure you got thousands of health but...
then you get orcs. melee only attackers, but you still wanna shoot them.
