I like how the moment I actually pick up a phone and get the conversation going it's not scary at all and I keep my cool. Huh.

In any case it looks like I might have a better opportunity for a first job so I'm going to see how that goes down.

Isabelle confirmed to be some sort of goddess who can dictate the weather. As she said this, all the grass happened to become green again.

I'm surprised just how unimportant the NSFW version of my reference sheet ended up being, in contrast to how important it seemed when I commissioned it. I basically never use it for anything.

Someone should make a mouse character whose tail ends in a green-ish PS/2 plug for retro PC shenanigans

This actually sounds like something I'd be able to fix with therapy or other help, which would be a good idea to make it not disrupt things.

Phone calls from strangers terrify me and I'm not entirely sure why, especially when an in-person appointment is usually just fine. Mysterious.

@maxine i can totally recommend it, though player/background collision can be a little tough to work out

I'd like to think Nova's phone is probably full of the numbers of all the raddest 90s characters. Who probably also have smartphones for some reason.

I really like my mouse character and I like getting better at drawing her

employment (-?)

I got into programming entirely to make games (and I definitely have no interest in the game industry) so I guess it was kind of just the default college option but now I'm not 100% sure how I feel about doing it as work. That's probably the path to take if I'm interested in making more money but that's also not something that matters to me very much until I have my own place.

employment (-?)

I kind of feel a bit shamed for not pursuing something that uses my degree, and feel like there's some sort of obligation to seek out a software job. I also get the impression that most of my classmates have relevant jobs too.

It's really tricky for me since I feel like I'd be a lot happier with something I can easily walk to and that's part-time even if it's not CS, and I don't actually know if I'd enjoy coding for money either since I haven't done it.

Emails are really tricky for me since I spend a long time trying to figure out exactly how I should word things, especially if it really matters how I word things.

I guess in general I also want more people I can talk about Rescue Rangers and such with and watch cartoons with.

I'd like to hear from other people who've got an interest in trying to really push for getting clean, 90s cartoony stuff to be relevant again in the furry fandom. I put together a Telegram group for it and I suppose I'll just see if I can get anything to happen, though this isn't something I'm going to give up on because I care a lot about this.

I should try and actually get around to drawing some friends later for more art practice. It feels like it'd maybe be easier to draw anthros than very stylized characters.

Also I've gotta draw tons of Isabelle fanart, she's the best.

Feeling generally a lot more positive lately! I credit it to actually getting hired, having some very good friends I feel like I can count on, and just generally getting to enjoy myself a bit more.

It's Maffi! As pixel art, so it's the first full-color picture of her I've done, meaning I can really show off the purple ears. I figured the clothes should be purple too.

@Austin_Dern @claude That makes a lot of sense, and I've always had a lot of trouble with finding groups of people who care about the things I do as much as me. It's especially hard when the need for the community is spurred on by being made uncomfortable in an existing community, so you've gotta find people who not only care lots for the general topic but the sanitized version.

But perhaps reviving something that has simply fallen out of popularity would have more of a chance.

I wonder what the first step to forming a new community around an interest that doesn't currently have a sufficient community is
