There's been a longstanding feeling at my house where my feelings and what I want don't matter at all. Like I would have people harassing me until I got a haircut when I wanted it long to be more comfortable with myself, and my brother just threw out the George Foreman I liked to cook on and told him to keep only because he doesn't like it.
I suppose it can't hurt to ask if anyone knows of any casual, clean furry #roleplay places where you can just play out a character of any setting and practice?
https://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/User:Lidnariq/Unofficial_opcode_matrix this layout does a really good job at helping to explain what processes are actually going on when the 6502 decodes instructions. All the patterns are made really clear.
The real downside to 8x16 sprites is that for things that are 8 pixels tall you end up wasting tiles for the required blank space above/below them, but almost everything in this game is 16x16 so it's acceptable.
I suppose since I've introduced myself, I should introduce my #fursona too. Her name is Nova Storm, and the core of her design is that she's supposed to be a 90s animal mascot platformer character. Like a cartoon character does with cartoon logic, she carries video game logic and abilities wherever she goes, able to jump very high, land from any height safely, have an inventory and so on.
