Trying to put some actual focus on security for once, I looked at how to set up the maximum messages size for the Python websockets module I'm using and apparently the default is a whole megabyte! I lowered it to 32KB which is still excessive but at least it's reasonable excessive.

Test where I made sure Tilemap Town's client can see a tile with an image ID it doesn't recognize, request the image URL corresponding to that image ID, and then finally redraw once it loads the image. In this case it's my ear.

And I realize I should probably show said 3D printed gold Wario.

I feel like I need to buy Shrinky Dink stuff myself and right the wrong of Clean-Shaven Wario. Though I do have that gold-painted 3D print of him which is probably the ideal Wario anyway.

Tilemap Town's help button now actually brings up a description of the controls and some common commands instead of doing nothing so thats a start towards user-friendliness right there.

Sometimes people will message me the word "poke" to get my attention and I'll acknowledge it with "peek" and I now realize most people probably have no idea what I'm referring to.

The server can be as good as I want but that doesn't matter if the actual interface sucks, oops.

Ideally I want it to be easy enough to use that I can just shoot a link somewhere and have people join in with no problem, and most likely not have to explain anything. Definitely needs to have a way smaller learning curve than MU*s.

I feel like Tilemap Town is reaaaally overdue for a new client, or at least new HTML for one. The JavaScript's probably fine, but it needs to be friendlier, work on FIreFox, and so on.

I only just now realized Wario is missing a mustache.

Shrinky dinks. They really did get incredibly small after baking. You'll see bad attempts at Wario, Gwonam, Billy Mays, etc.

I notice a lot of squirrels outside and that makes me smile.

Even though it takes me a long time (my own fault since I need to learn how to do it efficiently) it's always 100% worth it to shave my face for the ability to just see and feel smoothness there, like there should be.

With that plus my hair a little long (being able to see it behind my ears seems important) I actually don't mind looking into the mirror at all.

It absolutely drives me up the wall just how bad most of my friends are at being responsive. I have to deal with people not replying for days or even weeks (often while reading all my messages and making it even worse) and I've gone through countless times where I finally find someone I can reach out to and talk to only for them to start going silent for a week or more. I have no idea how to make reliable friends like other people seem to have and it feels hopeless and futile.

I feel like Nova's the kind of person who, when exploring other worlds, would be very interested in seeing what kind of common everyday technology they have.

I'm finally commissioning some actual box art for Nova the Squirrel to knock one of the obstacles to a cartridge release out of the way. Here's a rough sketch that's making me giggle a whole bunch.

So then today I find a note about "stop taking our soap, you can wash your hands upstairs" and at this point I've just given up and I've put a second bar in the kitchen. No one even bothered to say anything to me and maybe ask if it was mine, because of course it's not.

I'm getting rather tired of the other people I live with deciding the house is theirs and they're in charge. First they decide that, for no reason, the downstairs bathroom is theirs and the upstairs one is mine so I should be forced to take stairs every time I need to use it. Then, after I get soap and put it downstairs by the kitchen sink so I can wash my hands while cooking, they start taking it and putting it in their bathroom. They keep taking it after I keep putting it back.

I feel like it's a problem that modern chat platforms don't care about users being able to control their experience on the platform, or actually want to prevent it (with Discord's ToS banning client modifications, for example), and I think that's unacceptable for what's become the primary means of socialization for a lot of people.

Plugins and alternate clients need to make a return. Telegram does get some credit for publishing source code and API info.

I really like grilled cheese sandwiches as a nostalgic food but I'm very bad at not burning them. Anything that doesn't involve timers but is also picky is tricky for me.

For the longest time I held onto Lego Racers' powerup mechanics as being something unique and creative but now it's looking more like they probably just stole it from Diddy Kong Racing. I also don't feel like taking all the randomness out is a good idea anymore anyway, unless you're competing purely for skill rather than to have fun.
