Okay let's see if I can do anything cool with lasagna noodles. This is a part where I'm probably gonna get to have some wish fulfillment from when I was a kid and I wanted to see what they were like outside of just lasagna.

After making probably at least five platformers (and starting but not finishing attempts at more), maybe it's time for me to try a different genre for once.

I guess it's time to look through my list of weird game ideas that I didn't work on because I was too busy writing Nova the Squirrel.

Minecraft really needs some sort of middle ground between dying having almost no consequence and dying meaning you have to go run out to grab your stuff as fast as possible before it despawns forever. Though, if I ever host a server, KeepInventory is definitely gonna be on.

I think Dragon Quest Builders finds a nice middle ground just by making items seemingly not despawn and giving you at least some of your stuff but making you go back for the rest of it.

I think consistently the most expensive thing on my server resource-wise is always the wiki, but it's worth it for having something convenient to worldbuild and document things with.

Since Nova's supposed to fit in with 90s mascot platformer characters I'm imagining her befriending the obscure forgotten ones that didn't really catch on

I feel like the biggest purpose in life is really to see how much of a positive impact you can make on the lives of people you care about and that's how I try to live

I still take a plush to bed each and every night and it just feels wrong otherwise

lonely

While meeting very interesting, very relatable people only to have them quickly disappear has unfortunately become a frequent thing for me, I think the most recent time is really hitting me hard because there were extra implications they intended on being gone forever and that just makes me sad. I usually have a vague hope that if I wait enough months all my friends that are too busy or antisocial will be around again.

Maybe I should drop most of my remaining IRC networks since the channels I'm in there are mostly dead at this point.

I like how certbot (plus a cron job) automates renewing SSL/TLS certificates to the point where I didn't have to touch again it for over a year before they finally phased out something, and all that meant was I had to update certbot.

Ended up using the opportunity to go and add some of my other subdomains to the certificate too.

Mastodon's doing a good job at introducing me to people I really relate to, but people seem to keep poofing shortly after meeting them...

There are a lot of creative mediums I wish I were good at but each thing probably calls for years of practice on their own. I guess this is why collaborations and commissions exist.

That said, being able to create fun video games is a pretty great skill to have, and even if I'm not great at pixel art or music they're still fun to play with, which is the important part.

I quite enjoy spinning across smooth floors in socks

Food

When I see muffin mix at the store, the berry ones look interesting until I look at the ingredient list and see it's all artificially flavored, so I just get chocolate since the chocolate is actually real

I should dust off my room in the near future. Also apply to several more jobs.

There's also been a hint this entire time that there might eventually be one, because the level select graphics has a colon in the same style as the numbers, and now it has its intended use as a minutes:seconds separator in showing the best time for the level.

I'm putting a time trial mode into Nova the Squirrel since it really is kind of a fun game to run through as fast as possible, and it only counts time spent during gameplay so you can take your time when using the pause menu or in block placement.

Food

I'm actually unsure there's much of a flavor difference from normal but it sure didn't hurt it! It really shines when I make tortilla pizzas or pizza bagels so I was curious about it in a real pizza.
