I have a few problems that seem inescapable and that have bothered me either throughout my whole life or just for a very long time, and I feel like all I can do is distract myself and pretend things are fine while just hoping things turn around someday, waiting year after year while nothing changes. All of them are things that require cooperation from other people and I always get the same suggestions that I've already tried every time and it's just a tiring thing overall.

I really need to get the discipline to take breaks from things when it would benefit me to do so. There's definitely room for something in-between going somewhere every day and never wanting to touch a community again.

I love how expressive the save icons for PlayStation 1 and 2 games are. On 1 they're often actually animated, and on 2 they're entire 3D models with animations and sometimes even a special animation displayed on the delete confirmation screen, that you're rarely going to be looking at but someone still took the time to make it.

job seeking

Apparently my application to Kroger has been sitting incomplete for awhile because their website requires me to claim I am not older than 14. 15, 16, 18, or 19 but I am in fact still older than 21 despite that not being how math works. Oh well, I definitely would have refused to work in today's weather so that's alright that there wasn't a chance of me getting hired earlier.

It's actually warmer than expected? That's nice, though it's still below zero.

I wanted to make my Dr. Mario clone cuter and more on-theme, so have some pawprints. Possibly done and ready for entering into the compo? The deadline is very soon and I can't really think of anything that needs added. forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.ph

Turned on a heater for the first time all winter because if I ever needed it I really need it tonight. We never took the air conditioner out of my room sooo there will probably be -21°F air flowing into my room through it and that doesn't sound nice.

I hope I end up seeing more from the commission I'm trying to get soon since it's been about three weeks since the last sketch I got.

food

There's his pretty awful meal my mom used to make when she lived with us that's basically just noodles with tons of butter on them, and is probably completely unhealthy, and my brother decided to make it for his dinner tonight hahahaha.

He doesn't like pasta sauce though so that's probably why.

Now weather.gov has a big "Very Dangerous and Life-Threatening Arctic Air Mass Expected This Week" at the top so I don't think anything is going to convince me to leave the house until it's over

Looks like I'm getting a lot of scam email preying on job seekers by trying to make them accomplices in crime

Doodled these islands in Tilemap Town because I felt like making islands of some sort. I've been remembering how much I like the tropical aesthetic recently and maybe when I put in support for user-made tilesets I'll have to give it a more proper go with palm trees and such.

This year might be the year I finally do not renew my ChicagoVPS plan. I haven't renewed it yet and it's not due until I think March or something so perhaps at some point I will migrate to something else.

My server's being oddly laggy recently and it's making me really appreciate that Tilemap Town will just keep chugging along locally without caring how slow the server is to respond, though having commands take ages to happen isn't too nice.

I got a Papa Johns gift card so now to wait until they inevitably do a 50% off deal again

Gonna try and push my sleep schedule back. 4:30 AM isn't great but it's sure better than 6 AM

For my microgame engine thing, I guess I'll make a few serious microgames, develop enough stuff to allow actually playing WarioWare with whatever microgames you supply, and then release that and see if anyone wants to mess with it

I think I managed to find a positive side to not getting out of the house much!

eye contact, art

I practiced vector art a little bit and drew an Isabelle. I don't think it's very good but I've gotta make myself keep doing it if I want to get better at it.

I probably should try just drawing on paper though, since those skills would actually transfer to drawing with a tablet if I ever got one, or a touch screen.
