@lyliawisteria@whomst.dog It's Apache Subversion, a software revision system. Basically it lets devs upload and categorize new code revisions hot off the presses. The main thing it does is let people collaborate on code— think of it like if github was a format instead of a web service

@lyliawisteria@whomst.dog You can use an SVN client— I use TortoiseSVN— to access the newest commit of whatever project you're following, directly from the developer's server. It's not exactly the newest and sexiest software revision format, but it's a godsend for long-running projects that existed before github became the monolith it is today
