i love how the technical name for a moon that orbits another moon is "subsatellite" but astronomers wont stop calling them "moonmoons"

@mint@elekk.xyz They're just your happy little farmin buds :)

Oh no I'm making sweeping statements about software formatting using a surface-level understanding of the way software is developed, implemented, and distributed

I'm gonna get dunked on so hard

@lyliawisteria@whomst.dog You can use an SVN client— I use TortoiseSVN— to access the newest commit of whatever project you're following, directly from the developer's server. It's not exactly the newest and sexiest software revision format, but it's a godsend for long-running projects that existed before github became the monolith it is today

your reputation with myass has decreased from 205 to -605. you are now despised by myass.

@lyliawisteria@whomst.dog It's Apache Subversion, a software revision system. Basically it lets devs upload and categorize new code revisions hot off the presses. The main thing it does is let people collaborate on code— think of it like if github was a format instead of a web service

I always forget how whimsical some obscure games are. There's something deeply satisfying about using an SVN client to download the newest version of Ashes of Erebus. That old, deep-web feel that's so hard to explain in the age of Steam and mass marketing

What if we all just acknowledged that Monogatari Series is a good anime despite its flaws and went home

Whisper-shouting the lyrics to smile.dk's "Butterfly" into my partners' ears at bedtime every night to establish dominance
