me at the start of every fucking yugioh series: oh this'll prolly be okay I guess, the original manga set a high bar idk how they're gonna keep up
me by the end: just fucking sobbing on everything about those good boys
It's extra frustrating because Rimworld is just a poorly optimized game to begin with. If they would just let me use my EIGHT CPU CORES then maybe I would be able to play the game at a stable framerate!
After what feels like actual hours of fanangling, there are no more error messages on game launch. Yay!
coalitions are stronger and more useful than the definitions of categories. actions speak for themselves
fighting over what 'queer' means accomplishes nothing. I grew up knowing a definition of 'queer' which encompassed asexuality, and others have grown up with a definition that didn't; but if the definitions of worda aren't inherently important
and they aren't
then our definitions shouldn't bar us from organizing around our shared struggles and being in solidarity around un-shared struggles.
Here is my 4k gfx entry to solskogen 2020!
"Enamel Pin"
based on an actual enamel pin I bought for my bag
Because when the big guns say the game ships friday, the game. ships. friday. And suddenly not doing your job well is the only way you get to keep your job. Because your boss is under pressure from the publisher, and the publishers are under pressure from the market, and the market is ALWAYS under pressure.
And that's why your elder scrolls or fallout game isn't that good— not because of a single guy with a mic, but because it turns out that capitalism gives no shits about artistic vision.
Nobody blames the Associate Producer (Mobile Games) position at Bethesda for making an Elder Scrolls mobile game. Nobody blames the random french Engine Programmer who works for Arkane Studios France for the buggy Bethesda engines. You get mad at Todd Howard, because Todd Howard is the guy you see. And when things fuck up, you blame the guy with the microphone and the big ideals.
It really ticks me off when people get mad at one specific aspect of game development for fucking up when in reality the problem with modern game development is that everybody is being pulled in a million directions at once— people are understaffed, underpaid, given minimal time, and forced to prioritize nonsense.
