@patwashburn If you haven't already read it, Project Hail Mary, by Andy Wier, is a fantastic read.
Guy wakes up in what appears to be a hospital room with two desiccated bodies and a computer that's no help at all, with no memory of who he is, why he's there, or what he's supposed to be doing. Everything unfolds from there.
