A lot more English and less Nordic in my DNA heritage test than one would expect from my official family tree. I suspect my ancestors to have been rather busy on the Norwich and Munich beer hall scene.

I used to joke that I was the whitest person on the planet, based on my DNA. Now I have 0.2% Sub-Saharan African (primarily Nigeria) showing up.
I do wonder how accurate those "23 and Me" tests are.
@ScottSoCal I think they are reasonably good at marking out generic similarity to the current population in the geographical area but direction of travel could be either way.

Good point, I hadn't considered that DNA can travel in as well as out.
