@cpoliticditto lol, nothing.Just don't want to turn this place into Twitter 2.0.
@talia_christine @cpoliticditto
The only way Twitter 2.0 happens is if we let it happen. I'm don't mean to sound so doom and gloomy, I just mean if the developers start to swing towards the Twitter mindset and make-up... we have the tools in place to stop them. Active administration groups and users are the only cure.
The danger of "Twitter" "Facebook" etc. isn't the tool itself, it's the apathy they bring along with them. YOU (TC, you) don't have to care about how the curation comes from, you allow the business to do it for you. So they benefit from making you lazy.
Mastodon currently doesn't benefit the lazy. But we're already seeing people moving into the space and trying to MAKE it lazy. It might sound paranoid, but the fact remains that companies are trying to buy into the environment. Those companies aren't doing that altruistically. They are doing it for profits - either direct or indirect.
Lazy users only benefit companies trying to profit off their lazy.
